Put Your IRA to Work for Pride
If you’re 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution can be a tax-wise way to help carry Baltimore’s story to the world.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows eligible donors to make a gift directly from an IRA to Pride of Baltimore, Inc. Your gift can help Pride of Baltimore II continue sailing, welcoming visitors aboard, and bringing Baltimore’s maritime heritage to people near and far.
What is a QCD?
A Qualified Charitable Distribution, sometimes called an IRA charitable rollover, allows individuals age 70½ or older to make a charitable gift directly from an eligible IRA. A QCD is generally excluded from taxable income and may count toward all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), if one is required.
For 2026, the annual QCD limit is $111,000 per individual.
How it works:
Contact your IRA administrator to request a gift from your IRA to Pride of Baltimore, Inc. (Tax ID: 52-1189136). Allow time to process before year-end.
Direct transfer required: IRA funds must be sent directly to Pride to qualify as a QCD. If your institution needs transfer instructions, contact us for details. Checks may also be mailed directly to:
Pride of Baltimore, Inc.
841 East Fort Avenue, #352
Baltimore, MD 21230
(Checks should be payable to Pride of Baltimore, Inc., not the IRA owner.)Notify us of your gift: Sometimes QCDs arrive without donor information, so please let us know when you initiate a transfer. This ensures we can properly thank you and provide any needed documentation.
Name Pride as a Retirement Beneficiary
You can also carry Baltimore’s story forward by naming Pride of Baltimore, Inc. as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other retirement account.
A beneficiary designation is separate from a QCD and can provide lasting support for Pride of Baltimore II and her mission.
